80 for Brady

Paramount Home Entertainment’s 80 for Brady debuted at No. 1 on the Circana VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart the week ended May 6.
The film stars Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field as four elderly friends who decide to take a road trip to see Tom Brady play in the Super Bowl. It earned $39.3 million at the domestic box office.
The previous week’s top seller, Lionsgate’s faith-based Jesus Revolution, dropped to No. 2 on both charts, selling about 61% as many copies as 80 for Brady.
The No. 3 overall disc seller, and No. 4 on the Blu-ray Disc chart, was Universal Pictures’ horror comedy Cocaine Bear.
Another newcomer was No. 4 on the overall disc chart, Universal’s Champions, a sports comedy about Woody Harrelson as a basketball coach assigned to lead a team of players with special needs. It earned $16.3 million from U.S. theaters.
No. 5 overall was Universal’s creepy android doll thriller M3GAN, which was No. 9 on the Blu-ray Disc chart.

On the Blu-ray chart, No. 3 was Warner’s Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen — Part One, a direct-to-video animated crossover movie in which members of DC Comics’ Justice League visit the world of RWBY. It was No. 12 on the overall disc chart.
The No. 5 Blu-ray seller was Crunchyroll’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, which was No. 18 on the overall disc chart.
Blu-ray Disc formats accounted for 29% of total 80 for Brady unit sales, while Champions had just 15% of its sales come from Blu-ray, a tally low enough to keep it outside the list of top 30 Blu-ray sellers. Neither title was available on 4K Ultra HD disc.
The top-selling 4K title was Paramount’s new edition of the 1993 comet aimed at Earth disaster movie Deep Impact, a reissue that pushed the film to No. 19 on the overall chart and No. 6 on the Blu-ray chart.
The Media Play News rental chart for the week ended May 7 had Champions in the top spot, with Cocaine Bear at No. 2.
The No. 3 rental was Lionsgate’s weather-chaser thriller Supercell, followed by Lionsgate’s Plane at No. 4, and Warner’s Magic Mike’s Last Dance at No. 5.
