Former Netflix Executive Cindy Holland Named CEO of Sister Entertainment Group

Former Netflix senior executive Cindy Holland has been named global CEO of Sister Entertainment Group, a Los Angeles/London-based entertainment production company with original content that includes “The Power” (Prime Video), “This Is Going to Hurt” (BBC/ AMC), “Landscapers” (Sky/ HBO), “The Split 1-3” (BBC One/ AMC+) “Gangs of London” (Sky/ AMC) and “Chernobyl” (Sky/HBO).

Based in Los Angeles, Holland will determine the strategic direction and oversee execution across the company, including business partners. She reports to Elisabeth Murdoch, co-founder and executive chairman, and Jane Featherstone, co-founder and chief creative officer.

Holland spent 18 years at Netflix until 2020, including nine years as VP of original content. In her role, she established the streamer’s original programming strategy and oversaw the teams behind titles including “House of Cards,” “Orange Is the New Black,” “BoJack Horseman,” “Grace and Frankie,” “Narcos,” “Making a Murderer,” “Stranger Things,”” The Crown,” “Icarus,” “Ozark,” “Big Mouth,” “Russian Doll,” “When They See Us,” and “The Queen’s Gambit,” among other titles.

Holland was named to the 2018 Time 100 list of most influential people, is a graduate of Stanford University, and is a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles.
