Netflix: Comedy Adventure ‘The Out-Laws’ Dominates Weekly Streaming With 28.6 Million Views

Second-week access proved a winner on the Netflix charts for new Netflix adventure comedy The Out-Laws, starring Adam Devine, Nina Dobrev, Ellen Barkin and Pierce Brosnan, as extended family members hellbent on criminal behavior. The movie notched No. 1 rankings overall and on Netflix’s English-language chart with 28.6 million views for the week ended July 16.

Two licensed movies, Sony Pictures’ sci-fi thriller 65 and Universal Pictures’ Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, rounded out the English-language chart podium with 6.8 million and 5.5 million views, respectively.

The Chris Hmesworth action sequel Extraction 2 remained on the chart for the fifth consecutive week at No. 4 with 5.2 million views, followed by the animated feature Nimona at No. 5 with 4.7 million views. The new documentary Unknown: Killer Robots debuted on the chart at No. 10 with 2.7 million views.

Spain’s post-apocalypse thriller Bird Box Barcelona debuted at No. 1 on the non-English-language movie chart and No. 2 overall with 16.3 million views. The movie — starring Mario Casas, Diego Calva and Georgina Campbell — aims to bring streamers back to the world of Netflix’s 2018 hit Bird Box, starring Sandra Bullock, which remains No. 4 on the streamer’s all-time viewing list with 157.4 million total views.

Other new foreign-language charters included Poland’s Mr. Car and the Knights Templar and Turkey’s romantic comedy Love Tactics 2, which debuted at No. 3 with 4.2 million views and No. 4 with 4.1 million views, respectively. Returning charters included the French drama Gold Brick (6.2 million), Turkey’s rom-com Make Me Believe (1.6 million), Spain’s Through My Window: Across the Sea (1.2 million) and the Danish drama A Beautiful Life (800,000). 

Season two of “The Lincoln Lawyer” claimed the top spot on the English-language TV chart with 8.3 million views, while season one of the show moved up to No. 5 with 3.4 million views. Season three of “The Witcher” fell to No. 2 with 6.7 million views, while “Is It Cake, Too?” returned to the chart at No. 8 with 2.6 million views. South Africa’s “Fatal Seduction” reached a new chart peak at No. 3 with 6.6 million views.

Chart newcomers included the comedy “Survival of the Thickest” at No. 3 with 3.7 million views, the NFL docuseries Quarterback at No. 6 (3.3 million views), the dating series “Too Hot To Handle Season 5″ at No. 7 (2.8 million views), the lifestyle series “Hack My Home” at No. 9 (2.6 million views) and the animated series “Sonic Prime Season 2″ at No. 10 (2.4 million views). 

Returning to the non-English-language TV chart were the Korean dramas “King the Land” (4.6M views), “Celebrity” (3.3M views) and “See You In My 19th Life” (1.7 million views), along with the Japanese series “Record of Ragnarok” and the Mexican drama “The Surrogacy” (1.7 million views). New additions for the week included the Japanese series “Burn the House Down” (2.6 million views), “Jujutsu Kaisen” (2.4 million views) and “My Happy Marriage” (2 million views).
