Merchandising: ‘Fast X’ Exclusives Ride to Retail

Walmart’s ‘Fast X’ 4K ‘Icon Edition’

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Fast X arrived on retail shelves Aug. 8, with exclusive editions available from all the major national brick-and-mortar chains that sell home entertainment.

The film, the 11th in the “Fast & Furious” franchise and the 10th in the primary series starring Vin Diesel, finds Team Toretto dealing with the revenge-minded son of a former foe.

Walmart offered the Fast X 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray combo pack as an “Icon Edition” with a fold-out cover featuring glossy promotional photos from the film, for $34.96.

Target’s exclusive was the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack in collector’s edition packaging featuring a unique slipcover and 10 interchangeable character cards, for $26.99.

Best Buy, as usual, offered a Fast X Steelbook edition of the 4K Ultra HD combo pack, for $35.99.

Also available exclusively at Best Buy is a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbook edition of Lionsgate’s 2013 sci-fi film Ender’s Game for $21.99.

Among other promotions for the week, Target touted Disney princess and superhero (ie Marvel) movies for under $20 apiece.
