Nov. 28 Sees ‘Haunting in Venice,’ ‘WandaVision’ New on Blu-ray, ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ Available Digitally

New home entertainment releases for Nov. 22 include 20th Century Studios’ A Haunting in Venice, Disney’s WandaVision and Well Go USA’s Eye for an Eye: The Blind Swordsman on DVD and Blu-ray, while Universal’s Five Nights at Freddy’s  becomes available at digital retailers.

A Haunting in Venice, the thriller based on the 1969 Agatha Christie Hallowe’en Party novel, will be released on  Blu-ray Disc and DVD from Disney-owned 20th Century Studios. A Haunting in Venice is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve and features the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot, played by Kenneth Branagh, who also produced and directed. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets. A Haunting in Venice is the third film in Branagh’s “Poirot” trilogy, which also includes 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and 2022’s Death on the Nile. Branagh stars alongside an ensemble cast that includes Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio and Michelle Yeoh. It grossed more than $42.47 million at the domestic box office.

Disney-owned Marvel Studios will release WandaVision on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD disc in Steelbook packaging Nov. 28. The nine-part Disney+ limited series stars Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany as Vision from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a parody of TV sitcoms throughout the decades that masks a deeper mystery. The release includes all nine episodes and collectible art cards.

Well Go USA will release the martial arts adventure Eye for an Eye: The Blind Swordsman on Blu-ray Disc, DVD and digitally Nov. 28. After stumbling into the aftermath of a brutal attack that resulted in an innocent man’s murder, a highly trained and exceptionally deadly swordsman temporarily sets aside life as a bounty hunter to investigate. As the truth behind the tragedy comes to light, the former killer-for-hire decides to hunt down his prey for an entirely different reason: rage. The film from China includes cutting-edge sword choreography. Written and directed by Bingjia Yang (Fight Against Evil 2), the film stars Xie Miao (Ip Man: The Awakening, The New Legend of Shaolin), newcomer Gao Yi, Zhang Haosen (“Fight Against Evil” franchise), Gao Weiman (Tang Men), Xiang Hao (“A Round Trip to Love” franchise), Liu Ben (Animal World), and Zhang Di (The Warrior From Sky). The film comes with a newly recorded English dub.

History’s Ancient Aliens: Season 18 arrives on DVD Nov. 28 from Lionsgate. Co-executive produced by Giorgio A. Tsoukalos and narrated by Robert Clotworthy, this 10-episode collection further explores the question of what lies beyond, from the vast reaches of outer space and deep within the planet’s core and ocean floors to flying crafts and ancient carvings to contemporary explorers of unexplained phenomena, and more. This season includes a mix of new episodes with subjects from an early-1900s prophet in Kentucky and new theories about Greek gods to the next generation of modern-day UFO hunters, along with “Top 10” episodes exploring unexplained structures, mysterious devices and flying crafts, and intriguing remote locations.

Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s, a horror film based on the video game series created by Scott Cawthon, will be available on digital Nov. 28 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. In the film, recently fired and desperate for work so that he can keep custody of his little sister, Mike (Josh Hutcherson, “The Hunger Games” franchise) agrees to take a position as a night security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. But Mike soon discovers that nothing at Freddy’s is what it seems. Mike’s nights at Freddy’s will lead him into unexplainable encounters with the supernatural and drag him into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare. The film also stars Matthew Lillard (Scream, Scooby Doo), Elizabeth Lail (“You,” “Once Upon a Time”), Kat Conner Sterling (A Week Away, “The Gifted”), Piper Rubio (“Unstable”) and Mary Stuart Masterson (Fried Green Tomatoes, Benny & Joon). It arrives on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Dec. 12.
