Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment’s Dune: Part Two remained No. 1 for a third week on the Circana VideoScan chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc chart the week ended June 1.

Director Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of the second half of Frank Herbert’s famed sci-fi novel earned $282 million at the domestic box office. With 28% of its total unit sales coming from 4K disc sales, Dune: Part Two was also No. 1 on the 4K disc sales chart. The regular Blu-ray accounted for 40% of sales, totaling 68% of sales in HD formats.

The collection of both of Villeneuve’s “Dune” dropped to No. 7 on the overall disc sales chart, accounting for another 20.9% of consumers snatching up the sequel.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Kung Fu Panda 4 was the No. 2 Blu-ray seller and would have been No. 2 overall had a large portion of shoppers not bought it as part of a separate collection of all four “Kung Fu Panda” films, which is counted as a separate title for purposes of the chart.

The standalone version of Kung Fu Panda 4 debuted at No. 4 overall with 31.7% of the sales of the top title. It had 60% of its unit sales coming from HD formats (41% from regular Blu-ray and 19% from 4K Ultra HD disc). The four-disc set was No. 9 overall with 18.8% of the sales of the top title. Combined, that means copies of Kung Fu Panda 4 on disc sold about 50.6% the total of Dune: Part Two.

As a result of the split, remaining No. 2 overall was Warner’s release of MGM’s The Beekeeper in its sixth week, selling 33.9% as many copies as the top seller. It was No. 4 on the Blu-ray chart. The film stars Jason Statham as a former secret agent who comes out of retirement to eliminate a network of computer scammers.

The No. 3 seller was Bluey: Season 3 from BBC Studios. The DVD-only release of the latest collection of the popular animated series was widely released May 28 after Walmart had it available early exclusively since late April.

No. 5 on the overall disc sales chart was another newcomer, Paramount’s Bob Marley: One Love. The biopic about singer Bob Marley earned $96.9 million at the domestic box office. HD formats accounted for 51% of its total unit sales, with 22% from regular Blu-ray and 22% from 4K disc, making it No. 3 on the Blu-ray chart and No. 6 on the 4K chart.
