New York-based film and television studio and streaming network FilmRise has partnered with Grinning Dog Entertainment, a Los Angeles- and Stockholm-based multimedia production company, to produce a new true crime documentary series “Statute of Limitations,” featuring Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

Sorrentino (“Jersey Shore,” “Jersey Shore Family Vacation”) hosts the light-hearted program where everyday people confess to the non-violent crimes they have committed — crimes they have gotten away with.

FilmRise has all rights in all media to the series worldwide.

“This one-of-a-kind series features crimes openly discussed by people who ‘got away with it’ coupled together with series host Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino’s unique style of humor that brings a light heartedness to a normally dark genre,” said Max Einhorn, FilmRise SVP of acquisitions and co-productions, in a statement. “That combination along with Mike’s highly engaged global fan base will help deliver big audiences for the series.”

“Having FilmRise, a major leader in the true-crime arena and ‘The Situation,’ a true icon within the reality-TV space, as partners will make this program an immediate success,” said Brian Ferretti, co-founder and co-principal of Grinning Dog Entertainment, in a statement. “We look forward to sharing this one-of-a-kind program with avid true-crime fans around the world.”

“I am thrilled to be a part of this new and unique true-crime series,” said Sorrentino in a statement. “It was an honor to work with FilmRise and Grinning Dog Entertainment to bring ‘Statue of Limitations’ to life. I am so excited to share this light-hearted series with the masses and hope they enjoy it as much I do.”

“Statute of Limitations” consists of 10, 30-minute episodes.
