Peacock’s upcoming “John Wick” prequel series “The Continental” will premiere Sept. 22 on the streaming service. The date was announced during the show’s July 21 San Diego Comic-Con panel that featured several members of the production team.

The limited series will run for three feature-length episodes on a weekly basis, with episode two available Sept. 29 and the conclusion Oct. 6. Fans at the convention were treated to several action-packed clips from the series.

“For the fans out there, we got you,” said executive producer/director Albert Hughes. “Yes, we have longer form storytelling, but if you set up something like that early with someone like [action director Larnell Stovall], you want to satiate the hardcore ‘John Wick’ fans right away. Also casual fans that will come and go this is wild.”

“The Continental” takes place in the 1970s, with younger versions of the Winston and Charon characters dealing with the hotel’s manager at the time, played by Mel Gibson.
