Netflix is showcasing a diverse slate of Japanese anime this extended holiday weekend (July4) at Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center, touted as North America’s biggest fan event for all things Japanese pop culture.

The SVOD pioneer is introducing upcoming anime content and live-action adaptations on the platform, including “Pluto” and the final season of “Beastars,” as well as news and talent appearances for the stop motion series “Pokémon Concierge,” live-action adaptations “Zom 100: Bucket list of the Dead,” and “One Piece,” among others.

On July 1, at the “From Japan to the World” J-Content presentation before a reported 3,000 fans at the main events stage, the panel featured the newly announced “Pokémon Concierge” series star Non, who will voice the lead character Haru in the Japanese version.

Netflix gave attendees and press a glimpse of the upcoming series “Pluto,” an anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Naoki Urasawa. Coming from Tokyo, anime illustrator Masao Maruyama offered insights into his decade-spanning career in the industry and what makes the upcoming project so special.

Fans also heard from the stars of upcoming zombie-comedy flick Zom 100: Bucket list of the Dead (Aug. 3), with co-creator of the original manga Kotaro Takata and lead-actor Eiji Akaso presenting a teaser trailer.

Before wrapping up the panel, Netflix treated attendees to a video message by the cast of the “One Piece” live action series (Aug. 31), in which series lead Iñaki Godoy took viewers to a special meeting with voice actor Mayumi Tanaka, revealing that the original voice cast of the long-running anime series will reprise their roles for the Japanese dub of the upcoming series.
