Lionsgate’s Plane remained No. 1 for a second week on both the Circana VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc chart the week ended April 8.
The film stars Gerard Butler as an airline pilot who must team with a criminal to rescue his passengers after they crash land in a hostile jungle. It earned $32 million at the domestic box office.
The No. 2 overall disc seller, and No. 3 on the Blu-ray Disc chart, was the DreamWorks Animation sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, distributed by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
Universal’s creepy robot doll thriller M3GAN slipped a spot to No. 3 overall, and No. 5 on the Blu-ray chart.
The No. 4 overall disc seller was Sony Pictures’ Tom Hanks starrer A Man Called Otto, which was No. 13 on the Blu-ray chart.
Rounding out the top five was Crunchyroll’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, at No. 5 overall and No. 2 on the Blu-ray.

The week’s top new release, at No. 26 overall, was Paramount’s South Park: The Complete Twenty-Fifth Season, though there were several titles that climbed back up the charts thanks to new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray re-releases.
No. 21 overall (No. 7 on the Blu-ray chart) was Warner’s The Maltese Falcon, and No. 22 overall (No. 6 on the Blu-ray chart) was Paramount’s Star Trek: The Next Generation — 4-Movie Collection. On the dedicated 4K chart, the “Star Trek: The Next Generation” movie set was No. 1, and Maltese Falcon was No. 2.
The Media Play News rental chart for the week ended April 9 also had Plane repeating at No. 1, with M3GAN again No. 2.
The No. 3 rental was A Man Called Otto, with Sony Pictures’ Missing at No. 4, and Screen Media’s The Ritual Killer at No. 5.
