‘Secret Invasion,’ ‘Extraction 2’ Again Top Weekly Whip U.S. Streaming Charts

Extraction 2, streaming on Netflix, again led the Whip Media chart of streaming movies, while “Secret Invasion,” streaming on Disney+, again topped the Whip Media chart of streaming originals among U.S. consumers for the week ended July 2.

Based on the Marvel Comics, “Secret Invasion” follows Nick Fury and Talos as they uncover a conspiracy by a group of shape-shifting Skrulls to invade Earth. It premiered June 21.

In the action sequel Extraction 2, Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as highly skilled commando Tyler Rake, who is on another dangerous mission. It started streaming June 16.

Rising from No. 3 to No. 2 on the streaming originals chart was Hulu’s “The Bear.” Season two of the comedy-drama series, about a young chef who goes home to Chicago to run his family’s struggling Italian beef sandwich shop, started streaming June 22.

Rising from No. 4 to No. 3 on the streaming originals chart was Apple TV+’s “Silo.” The dystopian series is based on the series of novels about a future where a community exists in a giant silo underground. The final episode of the first season debuted June 30.

Debuting at No. 2 on the streaming movies chart was Nimona, a computer-animated fantasy adventure based on the graphic novel of the same name. It began streaming on Netflix June 30.

As Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny debuted in theaters, several of the films in the franchise placed on the streaming movies chart, with Raiders of the Lost Ark at No. 3, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade at No. 6 and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom at No. 7.
